LIQUID GREEN PRODUCTS INC.
CLEAN FOR THE CAUSE
Lack of water for proper sanitation is still one of the major concerns facing the poor in developing countries. Many organizations are doing yeoman’s tasks bringing water to homes, villages and communities where it is so badly needed. All life is predicated on cleanliness. Without water and sanitation, children cannot eat, learn or be their highest self.
As I traveled through Africa last year, it was such a challenge just to find a toilet. Thank heavens we always had a bottle of our Multi-purpose Cleaner which helped us to wipe tables, clean our hands and face, wash fruits and most urgently it also sufficed as a wet wipe for personal hygiene.
Goal Six of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all. It also emphasizes ending open defecation practice and better management of fecal waste and wastewater.
Our charitable missions will bring awareness to the many Mama and Papa charities that are doing great work around the world. We plan to not only showcase their work but to collaborate whenever possible be it in continuing medical education (CME), farming, or sanitation.
Support our current cause.
On March 23, 2017 to April 9, 2017, the LIQUID GREEN PRODUCTS team in collaboration with MISSION FOR ADVANCING THEOLOGICAL EDUCATION & FRIENDS COMMITTED TO CARING (MATE/FCC) will be embarking on a charitable mission in the Guyana Rupununi Savannah, South America.
MATE/FCC focuses on sustainable projects. To date they have built roads, sawmills, radio stations, a hospital, drilled wells, provided electricity, health care and medical equipment and
given goats to hundreds of families as a means for them to become self-supporting. They have been doing this successfully since 1985.
On this two-week mission, the beneficiaries will be an Amerindian community in Guyana’s hinterland. We will be working in a rural hospital and in a remote clinic in Aishalton and Karoudar. Cervical cancer among women in the Lethem area is at a very high rate, between 37% - 43%. On this trip the conditions of these women will be of optimum importance.
One of our objectives will be to document the work of this registered, Christian, non-denominational, charitable organization whose objective is TO EQUIP AND SERVE people in developing countries. Besides distributing theological and educational books to universities and seminaries, they co-ordinate short-term medical missions providing continued medical services (CME) to rural populations around the globe.
Another major concern is sanitation. Today 2.5 billion people are still without adequate sanitation. Without water, proper sanitation and hygiene practices, disease spreads and contributes to many illnesses and eventually death. Children disproportionately face the brunt of this burden.
As simple as handwashing may seem it’s one of the most important things to do to stay healthy. Unwashed hands help spread bacteria, parasites and viruses that come from human and animal faeces. Our second objective on this mission will be to deal with issues of sanitation. LIQUID GREEN can make a difference. Our green products are 100% carcinogen and toxin-free and it is safe to use in unsanitary conditions.
Though novice volunteers in this field, we are encouraged by Arnold Doobay’s reassurance. “Your willingness to help and be part of a team is the only prerequisite needed,” he states.
Thanks to Tyler Mifflin from The Water Brothers for invaluable tips on how to ensure successful footage on location.
